Former MP Vijayasai Reddy was absent from the SIT inquiry in the liquor scam case.
Vijayasai recently made comments that Raj Kasireddy was the key mastermind of the liquor scam.
The SIT has issued notices to Vijayasai Reddy asking him to appear before the inquiry as a witness in this case.
Vijayasai Reddy was supposed to appear before the inquiry at the Vijayawada SIT office today, but at the last minute, informed the authorities that he could not come due to various reasons.
So why did Sai Reddy skip the questioning?
“Raj Kasireddy is the architect, executor, and beneficiary of the liquor scam. I will reveal more details about this in the future,” Sai Reddy stated.
Raj Kasireddy was the IT Advisor in Jagan’s regime and is currently on a run. He has been evading the SIT investigation, fearing arrest.
Raj Kasireddy reportedly played a crucial role in securing liquor supply contracts worth thousands of crores. The liquor supply orders were only awarded to those willing to pay bribes to top government officials at the time.
He is also accused of collecting commissions from these suppliers. The Chandrababu Naidu Government is of the strong opinion that this scam would lead to the Tadepalli Palace.
The first possibility is that the Liquor Syndicate or the YSR Congress may have blackmailed him.
Given his connections with YS Family and that party, Sai Reddy may have yielded to the Pressure.
There is another possibility that this is Sai Reddy’s way of exerting pressure on the TDP and the BJP.
There are rumors that Sai Reddy is expecting a renomination for the Rajya Sabha. If that is not possible, he is expecting the seat, at least for his daughter, Neha Reddy.
There are rumors that the BJP has dropped the idea after resistance from Chandrababu Naidu.
This is a way of putting pressure on the TDP – “If my demands are not met, I will not reveal anything that will lead to Jagan into trouble or into the danger of getting arrested”.
In a way, Sai Reddy is offering to become an Approver if his demands are met. This is nothing but a blackmailing tactic.
Another possibility is that Sai Reddy does not want to face the media unless there is clarity about his Rajya Sabha renomination from the BJP.
April 29th is the last day of nominations for the by-election of the Rajya Sabha seat vacated by him.
If Sai Reddy attended today’s questioning, the media would grill him after that, and he would have to commit to something about joining the BJP.
Maybe Sai Reddy would not want that until there is clarity on his renomination.
