Gadikota Dwarkanatha Reddy, the brother-in-law of YSRCP Rajya Sabha member Vijayasai Reddy, is set to join the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). Formerly the MLA from Lakkireddypalle constituency in 1994 as a TDP candidate, Dwarkanatha Reddy will wear a yellow scarf at an event in Vijayawada on Wednesday in the presence of TDP leader Chandrababu Naidu.
After his stint with TDP, Dwarkanatha Reddy joined the Congress party in 1999, and in subsequent years, he sought tickets from various parties without success. Despite expectations of receiving a YSRCP ticket in 2014 and 2019, it did not materialize. After a period away from active politics, he is now set to rejoin TDP.
Dwarkanatha Reddy’s ties to MP Vijayasai Reddy, who is a member of the YSRCP, include being the brother-in-law of Vijayasai Reddy’s wife. Along with Dwarkanatha Reddy, his elder brother Gadikota Surendranatha Reddy and elder sister Haremma, who is also the aunt of Nandamuri Tarakaratna, are expected to join TDP. The inclusion of Dwarkanatha Reddy has sparked discussions about potential candidature for the Rayachoti MLA seat on behalf of TDP.
