Vijayawada Metro: Time For Tenders Extended

The Andhra Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (APMRC) has extended the deadline for Vijayawada Metro tenders. The new submission date for final bids is October 24.

The extension has brought relief to participating infrastructure firms competing for the project. APMRC officials made the decision after receiving requests from several contractors.

In the first phase, the Metro will develop Corridors 1A and 1B. Corridor 1A will connect Gannavaram and Pandit Nehru Bus Stand, while Corridor 1B will stretch from Pandit Nehru Bus Stand to Penamaluru. The combined length is 38.40 km, with an estimated cost of ₹11,009 crore.

The Andhra Pradesh government will cover ₹1,152 crore for land acquisition. The second corridor, connecting Pandit Nehru Bus Stand to Amaravati (Reservoir Station), will span 27.75 km.

The Vijayawada Metro project follows a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, with the Central government funding 40% and private players covering 60% of the costs.
