Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has brought in the administration of the entire state to the cyclone hit Vishakapatnam to carry out the relief operations. Ministers, MPs, MLAs along with 100s of other district officials were deployed there to carry out the restoration and rehabilitation works. But the VIP culture is proving to be counter productive there. Officials are struggling to do the service to the MPs, MLAs and Ministers having to provide them accommodation, food, security etc. Also the officials of all districts are finding it difficult to communicate within themselves and the communication gap is resulting in various delays.
Pawan himself openly admitted that he does not want to add more trouble being a star, though he really wants to clean and sweep the roads it’s not practical with the huge crowds follow him wherever he goes. Opposition leader Jagan’s late visit too caused nothing but trouble for the relief works being done as he goes with a crowd of his own following him closely.
The Prime Minister’s road visit in the affected areas have got the officials running from pillar to post. The Prime Minister’s convoy according to security norms require 70 cars and officials have struggled to pool in all of them. Finally the convoy was left with less than 35-40 Cars. But one can not complain as Modi’s trip is the most required one for Vizag.
As we hear more celebrities like Chiranjeevi and others from movie industry who are planning to visit Vizag for the sake of providing moral help to the victims, will only cause more delay for the relief works being done than speeding up. For now, the only man required to stay in Vizag is Naidu who is really keeping the officials on toes and the real work getting done.
