Railway Zone As a Comforter for AP?

Andhra Pradesh People are seething in anger over the injustice meted to the state by denying the Special Status. The Opposition parties have lapped up this opportunity and are trying to instigate people over the issue. The heat reached Delhi as well as it can be seen evidently with BJP Senior Leaders trying for troubleshooting.

In order to pacify the angry people, it is said that the announcement of the Railway Zone may happen very soon. The announcement will be timed in the way that will come as an advantage to BJP for the upcoming Greater Vishakapatnam Municipal Corporation Elections. BJP earlier thought of giving the Zone with Vijayawada as the headquarter.

But then CM Chandrababu Naidu did not agree for that. Vishakapatnam Railway Zone is pending for decades and is not related even to the state bifurcation. Going back on the promise will prove costly for TDP and BJP. So, the Zone announcement which was to happen at the time of Special Package was postponed at the last minute.

The announcement will come up now, sources say. But Odisha is severely opposing this proposal and so BJP will be consulting with stakeholders there before taking a final decision. But then, if the Zone is announced with Vijayawada as the headquarter, it will further complicate the things.
