Vizag, Tirupati, and Vijayawada ahead of Hyderabad

Union Government has released the Swacch Bharat Rankings of Cities in the Country. Vishakapatnam from Andhra Pradesh is ranked third in cleanliness while Hyderabad is ranked 22nd. Indore and Bhopal are ahead of Vishakapatnam in these ranks.

Mysore which is the first ranked city last year now slipped to the fifth rank. Tirupati (9) and Vijayawada (19) are also ahead of Hyderabad. Warangal (28), Suryapeta (30), Tadipatri (31), Narasaraopeta (40), Kakinada (43), Tenali (44), Siddipeta (45) and Rajamahendravaram (40) are other Telugu cities in the Top 50.

The Swachh Survekshan 2017 rankings are based on a survey of over 17,500 locations spread over 434 cities and towns. Over 83 % of the respondents said that their area was cleaner than before indicating that India is becoming cleaner.
