Andhra Pradesh informed the board that it has used 39.756 TMCs of water while Telangana has used 19.568 TMCs. After this consumption, both the reservoirs should have 70.636 TMCs of water in storage. But then there are only 64.530 TMCs available which means about 6.106 TMCs water is lost.

Either of the two states may have used this water and is under-reporting the actual usage. KRMB is in the process of finding the Water thief. This type of problems are recurrent and for this reason, the board has already proposed using telemetry devices to determine exact usage.
