WhatsApp copying in Exams!

The incidents shown on the silver screen often have an effect on the real life of people. This is seen in the case of students of Bangalore University who were seen making use of their phones to cheat in exams. As many as 150 mobile phones have been recovered so far from the cheating students and in 44 of these cases, the students were using Whatsapp to commit this malpractice.

What happens is that students would take pictures of the question paper, sent it to their contact outside who would then send them answers through the app. Luckily for the administration, one of these students made a mistake and a sound from the phone alerted the invigilator who quickly investigated and found a cell phone with the student despite the ban on mobile phones in the exam room.

The university authorities have seized the phones of the offending students and have debarred them from appearing for the rest of the exams.
