The CBI, which allege a conspiracy angle in the Viveka murder case, said that giving bail to the accused would affect the witnesses.
The High Court questioned the CBI on when the probe would be completed, while the CBI counsel said it would ask the investigating officers and submit the details.
The High Court adjourned the next hearing to the coming Thursday.
