Who Wants To Disturb Amaravati Farmers Padayatra?

The ‘Nyayasthanam to Devasthanam’ Padayatra of Amaravati farmers from Amaravati to Tirupati has passed off peacefully in all the districts. While the farmers alleged intentional provocation from the official machinery at times, people have received them well wherever they went.

But then, things changed drastically once they entered Chittoor district. There are suddenly some meetings in the name of ‘Rayalaseema Medhavulu’ and there are some flexis overnight at the Padayatra camps in support of Three Capitals. And there is extensive coverage about this in YSR Congress supporting media.

“It is a joke that common people secretly arranged Flexis. Why would people arrange flexis? Even if they did, why they would do it at night. There was no such resistance when we are in Kurnool, one of the proposed three capitals. In fact, we got so much support there. This is definitely fishy. All the so-called Medhavulu are making political comments making their agenda obvious,” the farmers are alleging.

“It looks like someone is worried about the response the padayatra is getting from the common people. They want to instigate people against us and disturb the padayatra and later will show it as a law and order issue to the courts and the world. They are on a backfoot ever since the three capitals bills were withdrawn. The Government wants to rake the sentiment somehow.,” they say.
