Why Did Modi Not Confirm Metro Inauguration?

While the arrangements are going on at a full swing for the inauguration of Hyderabad Metro Rail Project, Telangana Government is yet to receive a formal confirmation from the Prime Minister’s Office confirming the appointment.

State BJP leaders have informed the PMO that the project is not 100% ready and the PM should not inaugurate an incomplete project. Subsequently, Union Urban Development Ministry Secretary DS Mishra was sent to review the works.

Governor ESL Narasimhan was also asked to review the progress. They have informed the PMO that the works are going on at a brisk pace and may complete by the time of inauguration. PMO is playing the waiting game and will take the final decision only 4-5 days before the launch date.
