Why is Own Minister Defying Jagan Mohan Reddy?

From the last few days, there are reports that Former Minister and TDP MLA Ganta Srinivasa Rao is all set to join YSR Congress. He reportedly set a muhurta of August 16th for this joining. However, Minister Avanthi Srinivas and Rajya Sabha MP Vijayasai Reddy are not at all happy with this.

Avanthi openly defied Jagan on this issue. “He is in neck-deep trouble due to various scams he committed while TDP is in Power. He is now planning to join the YSR Congress to get out of these cases,” Avanti alleged. This statement came as a surprise because it defies Jagan’s decision.

Today, a few YSR Congress supporters staged a protest in Avanthi’s Bheemili constituency asking the party high command not to allow Ganta into the party. Buzz in the local is that the protest has been conducted by the followers of the Minister. It looks like Avanthi is very uncomfortable about Ganta’s joining but this defying comes as a surprise.

Interestingly, Avanthi and Ganta are friends for a long time but had a fallout recently. Avanthi joined YSR Congress just before the elections and got a cabinet berth from Jagan.
