Will GHMC submit to KCR's might?

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao just seem to be unstoppable in the new state. After coming to power comprehensively in 2014, TRS also managed to win the subsequent two by-elections with thumping majorities. The survey reports of Narayankhed Assembly by-election are also favouring the ruling despite the segment being a stronghold of Congress.

KCR’s final frontier will be the GHMC elections which will happen early next year. This is obviously the toughest election due to the huge settlers presence. Usually local elections and by-elections go in favour of ruling party as people wants to use the ruling party for their development. There are numerous incidents where ruling parties have ignored the development of some areas just for the reason they did not get votes there.

Also the lower section of any area will depend on the support of the ruling party leaders to get pensions, government housing etc. So these sections normally favour ruling party in by-elections and local polls. We will have to see if these factors help the ruling party win over the settlers and the educated voters.
