Will KCR Succeed in His Mission of Clean Waters?

Telangana government on war footing is readying its first Vinayak nimajjanam tank for immersing Ganesh idols. This is to save the water bodies of Hyderabad from getting polluted due to the idols immersion. The irrigation department is gearing up to call tenders and will have to be finished by August end.

However the choice of this tank may prove to be fatal for the whole purpose. The government had directed GHMC to sanction 67 lakh to turn a portion of the Koneru lake at Cherlapally into an immersion site. Cherlapally is very far away from the Prime locations of Hyderabad and immersion there will be extremely difficult.

More over, Vinayaka Chaviti is on September 5th. The government will be running on tight schedules to get the tank ready. More than that, educating people about this new idea will be the biggest challenge. We will have to see if KCR government succeed in this mission amid all these challenges.
