Will Vijay Take That Sensational Step?

Vijay’s TVK might be the single largest party in Tamil Nadu, but the formation of the government isn’t going to be an easy task at any level. The TVK has 112 MLAs on its side, including the five from Congress and they have to secure another 6 to cross the magic figure of 118.

In the meanwhile, there have been strong political theories in Tamil Nadu that the conventional opponent of DMK and AIADMK could possibly the government together. This is an extremely unexpected outcome as these two rival parties could potentially be coming together to form the government.

On that note, there have been speculations that the TVK MLAs have collectively decided to resign all their positions in case the DMK and AIDMK form the alliance.

But at the same time, there is another alternative option for Vijay and this is regarding the bypoll prospect. In case all the TVK representatives resign their position, a re-elect could be mandated.

Considering the fact that Vijay performed surprisingly well in the assembly election, first time around, there is every chance that he might win the election in the re poll. Something like this happened earlier in Delhi as Kejriwal did not get adequate majority to form the government and then went for a bypoll which ended up granting him power.

This is an impractical option for the time being for Vijay, but it will always be on the back of his mind to potentially contemplate the same.
