Wine and Beer Vending Machines in AP!

The Excise department had put a proposal to the government of selling wine and beer in Andhra Pradesh through vending machines. This proposal was put during the Congress government and was put on hold as the state bifurcation happened immediately after that.

These vending machines supply beer and wine freshly prepared and has to be consumed within 48 hours unlike the bottles which are stored for days and months. This concept is already existent in Karnataka and is a big success there. Excise department has proposed this to implement in one or two cities as a pilot project.

But the Chief Minister is yet to take a decision on it. Chandrababu Naidu earlier turned down the proposals of increasing bars and wine shops, officials ask him to approve this so as to cover the revenue gap.
