Yet Another Blunder: Jagan To Pay Hefty Price?

In a significant shock for YSR Congress Cadre and Leaders, the party had decided to pull out of the by-election for Kurnool MLC which is necessitated due to the resignation of Shilpa Chakrapani Reddy who joined YSR Congress from TDP. Jagan also made no attempt to field a candidate as he informed the leaders that in case they contest they should mobilise their own finances. Unsure of winning, no other leader came to Contest despite the party opening doors for any one who is interested. YSR Congress Back Office made frantic calls to all the rich and influential in Kurnool to Contest but no one accepted.

YSR Congress announced that they do not want Constitution to be overridden once again with Cash Politics and so do not want to contest which seemed more like a Kahani. Finding no candidate from the district where Jagan recently completed his Padayatra speaks volumes about the tragedy of the party and the failure of the Padayatra to instill the confidence in the local leaders about the party future.

TDP has announced Deputy Chief Minister KE Krishna Murthy’s Brother, KE Prabhakar as its candidate and he will be now get elected unanimously. This decision of not contesting will come with a heavy price tag for the main opposition party in the district especially after it lost Nandhyal by-election very badly. The repercussions will be felt across the state as well given 2019 is fast approaching.
