Yogi Vemana’s Statue Disappears, YSR Comes In The Place!

Yogi Vemana University in Kadapa has been named after Praja Kavi Yogi Vemana, a philosopher and poet. Vemana belongs to the 17th century and enriched the people on wisdom and morality with his poems in simple language.

Now, the Jagan Government had disrespected him as well.

The Yogi Vemana statue present on the University premises has been removed and is now kept beside the gate. The statue was replaced by YSR’s statue.

Students have been agitating against this move of the University. Rayalaseema Vidhyarthi Samayikya has announced complaining to the Governor about this.

Only a few days ago, the Government’s move to rename NTR Health University after YSR invited severe criticism from all quarters.

Replacing the name of NTR is understandable at least to some extent. But not being able to tolerate someone like Yogi Vemana means something is seriously wrong.
