Jagan Reddy’s Team Takes Oath

25 members of Jagan Mohan Reddy‘s Cabinet took their oath a little while ago at a ceremony held near State Secretariat at Velagapudi. While six of them have the experience of working in YSR’s Cabinet, rest all are first-timers. Adimulapu Suresh and M. Goutham Reddy took oath in English while the remaining ministers took oath in Telugu.

The lone minority Minister, Amjab Basha took the oath in the name of ‘Allah’. Five of these Ministers will be made as Deputy Chief Ministers. One each from SC, ST, BC, Minority, and Kapu Communities.
The names of Deputy Chief Ministers and the portfolios of the ministers are expected to be announced later in the day.

A majority of them (Seven) belongs to the Backward Classes. SCs bagged Five (Mala 3 and Madiga 2). Kapu and Reddy Communities have bagged four each while Vyasya, Kshatriya, Kamma, and Minorities got one each. Jagan already announced the revamping of the 90% of the cabinet in two and half years to accommodate the others.

Subhash Chandra Bose and Mopidevi Venkatramana were given a chance even after losing the election. While Bose is a member of Legislative Council, Venkatramana is likely to be nominated to the upper House. Mopidevi also went to jail along with Jagan in the disproportionate assets case.
