YSR Congress resorts to damage control

YSR Congress which is bogged down by back to back defections of about 20 MLAs of the party, is looking for damage control. The party is appointing incharges in those constituencies where the leaders have left the party stranded. However it is becoming a difficult exercise as the leaders who have left the party are strong leaders.

And the party is struggling to find able replacements. The party however is coming up with a logic for these constituencies. “In 2019, Jagan will field freshers from all the seats where MLAs have defected, while Naidu will be forced to give tickets to the same persons who have joined him and they come with anti-incumbency,” they say.

However TDP leaders say it has the history of giving tickets to former Congress leaders and make them win in 2014 elections, despite the state bifurcation sentiment, and it knows how to win the election. On the other side, TDP says about nine more MLAs are in touch with them and will be shifting their loyalities very soon.
