Roja Tenders Unconditional Apology

YSR Congress Nagari MLA, Roja tendered an unconditional apology to Andhra Pradesh Assembly for her poor behaviour in the house which lead to her suspension for one year. Roja approached Supreme Court over the suspension and the court asked her to tender an apology and asked the Speaker to consider it.

Ahead of the next assembly session, the YSR Congress MLA wrote an unconditional apology letter to the speaker and it reached the Speaker’s office on Thursday. In the same letter, Roja expressed her regrets for her comments on TDP MLA Anitha. She went on to say she is regretting her comments and would ask apologies to Anitha if she is hurt.

The ball is now in Speaker’s court. The speaker has no legal binding to adhere to Supreme Court’s ruling. On the other side, the complaint of Anitha over Roja’s comments is pending with Assembly’s Previlege committee. The committee meeting was to happen today but got postponed in the last minute due to members unavailability.
