YSRCP MLAs Meet Viveka’s Murder Accused In Jail

Mydukuru and Jammalamadugu MLAs Raghurami Reddy and Sudhir Reddy on Thursday met Devireddy Sivashankar Reddy, a remand prisoner in the Kadapa Central Jail in connection with the murder of former minister YS Vivekananda Reddy.

Sivashankar Reddy’s wife also met him. The meeting of two MLAs in jail with Sivashankar Reddy became a hot topic in the district.

Sivashankar Reddy is a close aide of Kadapa MP Avinash Reddy. He is also YSR Congress Party’s State Secretary.

Sivashankar Reddy and others were not happy with Viveka ever since he joined the YSRCP in 2017 as he is a relative of Jagan Mohan Reddy and would actively challenge their influence not only over Kadapa but the entire Rayalaseema area.

Sivashankar Reddy was eyeing an MLC ticket from Kadapa in 2017. But, it was given to Vivekananda. As a result, he did not support Viveka in the MLC elections which he lost. Since then, there is a fallout between the two.

In the chargesheet, the CBI alleged that Sivashankar Reddy conspired to the murder of Viveka and caused the destruction of evidence at the scene of the crime.
