Amaravati Model Gallery Destroyed!

After coming into power, the YCP government scrapped the works of Amaravati capital city, which resulted in several protests by the people. Additionally, many works in the city came to an indefinite halt, causing a huge loss.

Meanwhile, a few unidentified individuals recently vandalized the Amaravati Model Gallery in Andhra Pradesh. This gallery was established when the foundation stone was laid for the Amaravati capital in Uddandarayunipalem village.

According to the local residents, Amaravati’s master plan model, historical evidence pieces, various maps, model sketches and multiple boards were damaged in the gallery.

It was alleged that inadequate security measures were taken for the protection of the gallery since the YCP came into power in 2019.

In a few other earlier incidents, the gallery gate was destroyed and sidelined and culprits stole materials such as sand, concrete, mud, and iron from the site. Now, the gallery itself has been vandalised.

The localities and farmers expressed anger against the government, over the lack of security and protection for this important site.

The foundation stone for the Amaravati Capital City was laid during the TDP’s tenure on October 22, 2015. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, former AP Chief Minister Nara Chandra Babu Naidu, former Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, and various other dignitaries attended the event.
