The construction of the capital city Amaravati is back on track after the NDA government was formed in Andhra Pradesh. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, officials have been actively working on the development of the capital city.

Many government and private companies are also showing interest in investing in Andhra Pradesh. Now, the central government’s organization, the Zoological Survey of India (ZSI), has joined the list.

ZSI deals with the exploration, surveying and monitoring of animal diversity in various states, ecosystems, and protected areas of India.

In February 2019, Chandrababu Naidu’s government allocated two acres of land to ZSI on a 60-year lease basis.

However, after the YCP government came into power in May 2019, ZSI’s works stalled due to the haphazard decisions and policies of former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

With the change in government, officials have started contacting all the companies that had backed off, reinviting them to invest in Andhra Pradesh.

In the process, Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) commissioner, Katamaneni Bhasker has been in talks with various companies.

After recent talks with the CRDA, the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change’s Zoological Survey of India has shown interest in coming to Amaravati.

ZSI has paid the required amount to the CRDA and submitted its architectural plan for its buildings. On Monday, it applied for primary permissions by paying the required fees at the Rayapudi Panchayat office. The works of ZSI are expected to begin very soon.
