What Is the Film About?
Mirai is about the secret Nine of Ashoka and what happens if in today’s world a powerful force (Manchu Manoj) try to steal them. It follows Teja, who must stop this from happening and explores his connection to the Yodhas, the guardians of these secrets for centuries. The story of Mirai movie also reveals a hidden answer in the Itihasas to prevent disaster and shows how a son fulfills his mother’s (Shriya Saran) wish in the end.
Teja Sajja plays the Yodha-inspired character with conviction. From his urban, stylish look-whether it’s his costumes, hairstyle or the subtle vulnerability he brings to convey the emotional layer tied to the mother angle-everything is portrayed with both believability and charm. What works best is that his character never goes overboard simply because he is the hero. This restraint adds to the film’s strength and makes his performance all the more effective.
Teja’s action sequences stand out, especially the one at the beginning of the second half where he realizes the weapon’s power. This entire sequence is one of the highlights of the film, showcasing not just slick execution but also Teja’s preparation, commitment and investment in the role.
Ritika Nayak plays a sort of female lead in the film, but not in a typical heroine role. She is perfectly cast and delivers exactly what the character requires.
Shriya Saran in the mother’s role is a refreshing choice. Her superb screen presence and well-written scenes add a fresh dimension to the film, elevating its emotional weight.
Manju Manoj takes on a negative role and the director makes the best use of his skills. Unlike in some of his past films, he never goes overboard here. His performance is controlled, impactful and perfectly suited for the Black Sword character, leaving a positive impression.
Mirai directed by Karthik Gattamneni, wastes no time and jumps straight into its core plot revolving around secret Nine and their secretive safeguarding and the consequences if they fall into the wrong hands. The film takes off perfectly and immediately pulls the audience into the Mirai world.
What follows is Hero Teja’s introduction. Unlike a typical love or comedy track, these portions may not feel entirely refreshing but are handled with stylish execution. The settings, artwork, and overall design give a polished look. Even when the tracks feel cinematic or staged, they don’t spoil the flow, and the freshness in presentation keeps the momentum alive.
The real hook lies in the core narrative of the Nine Itihasas and the parallel storyline that weaves through the first half. This is elevated by terrific stunt design. Manoj Manchu’s appearances in the first half, for example, stand out with slick action blocks and his screen presence is also effective as a villain.
Teja Sajja’s likable screen presence adds weight, and the casting feels pitch-perfect. Shriya ’s inclusion is refreshing, while the heroine’s character is kept balanced without falling into overdone stereotypes, ensuring the main plot stays focused.
The interval sequence with Teja and the breathtaking bird sequence, is a major highlight. Visually stunning and executed with excellence, it adds to the strong visual goodwill the film carries by this point. With the interval setting the stage perfectly, the first half of Mirai comes across as both refreshing and engaging.
Even the second half is filled with praiseworthy moments. To begin with, Teja’s weapon-realization action episode is truly kick-ass. The sheer VFX effort, the sharp action choreography, and the powerful BGM that complements it all come together to create a standout sequence.
There are other impactful blocks too Shriya Saran’s character reveal, as well as Manoj’s flashback are conceived convincingly and executed with strong visual appeal.
That said, Mirai is not without flaws. From an overall perspective, the story feels predictable at times and overall. But what holds everything together is the narration, the narrative flow, the strong casting, and the impressive visual quality, which keep the intrigue alive until the very end.
In the end, Mirai delivers with stunning visuals and impressive VFX that isn’t just for namesake, but seamlessly blends into the refreshing narrative. Combined with a fine cast that never goes overboard, the film becomes an engaging and appreciable theatrical experience.
Performances by Others Actors
Mirai has a small supporting cast, but each of them delivers their roles perfectly. Starting with Jayaram, the talented senior actor does his part well. Jagapathi Babu gets a brief but decent role making his presence felt. Getup Srinu appears in a comedic friend character and the director succeeds in keeping him controlled, avoiding the over-the-top style he is usually known for.
Kishore Tirumala is a surprise (in a negative way), while Venkatesh Maha is just okay.
Gowra Hari composes the music, and he proves to be a terrific addition to the film. His background score not only elevates the scenes but also brings an amazingly refreshing touch throughout. He stands out as a true asset, making every penny spent on him worth it through his work.
A real talent to watch out for, Gowra Hari has shown that if filmmakers give him the time and creative space he needs, he can become an invaluable asset to any project.
Cinematography by Karthik Gattamneni -who also directed the film-is nothing short of outstanding. Saying the visuals look excellent would be an understatement. By any standard, the cinematography is top-notch throughout. Combined with the visual effects, the film is filled with numerous sequences that will earn Karthik well-deserved appreciation.
Editing by Sreekar Prasad, however, could have been sharper especially in the second half. A crisper cut would have made the film even more engaging.
Production values from People Media Factory are top-class, setting a new milestone for the industry by showing how to deliver a large-scale film on a comparatively smaller budget.

#Mirai Big-Screen Worthy!
Rating: 3/5
Offers a super refreshing plot, quality VFX that blends well with the narrative and a perfect cast that makes it worth a watch, though not a flawless movie. It’s filled with several theater-worthy moments that will make you appreciate the men behind the effort.
No matter where it ends commercially, the team behind #Mirai will earn plenty of accolades for their courage, ambition and vision. Teja isn’t a one-time (#HanuMan) wonder; he is here to stay and surprise all if he keeps the same level of passion.
Producer @vishwaprasadtg has every reason to be proud.
Director Kartik – no one can underestimate him, and he just proved why!
