The story of Navarasa deals with nine different emotions humans deals with. Each short is dedicated to a particular emotion.
How Are The Performances?
Many actors are part of the nine shorts. Each has a unique role to do and everyone does well. However, only a few manage to take it to the next level. Suriya is the first name that comes to mind. However, others like Vijay Sethupathy, Revathy, Delhi Ganesh are superb too.
Among the nine emotions based anthology romance directed by Gautam Vasudev Menon stands out. It is breezy and fun to watch with superb music. The lead pair chemistry is wonderfully and expertly created. It is also the instantly relatable one among all.
Karuna aka compassion begins the anthology journey on an emotional note. Vijay Sethupathy’ intense dialogue with Prakash Raj and Revathy makes for gripping viewing.
Delhi Ganesh does excellently to evoke the feeling of disgust. It taps into the jealous feelings and conveys them effectively without overdoing them. The backdrop of the wedding is a further incentive to give it a try.
Laughter (Summer Of 92) and Wonder (Project Agni) make a compelling watch due to the stories they bring. More than the emotions, the concept behind it dominate the proceeding.
Overall, Navarasa is a good one time watch. It offers a mixed bag of emotions where some are excellent and others are ordinary. Irrespective of how they are, it deserves a viewing for the effort.
