At least seven Members of Parliament from various opposition parties in India reported receiving warnings from Apple indicating that their iPhones might be targeted by state-sponsored attackers.
The warning suggested that state-sponsored attackers might be attempting to remotely compromise their iPhones, potentially gaining access to sensitive data, communications, camera, or microphone. However, Apple clarified that it does not attribute the threat notifications to specific state-sponsored attackers. Apple emphasized that these notifications have been sent to individuals in nearly 150 countries.
The MPs who shared the alerts included representatives from Shiv Sena (Uddhav faction), Trinamool Congress, Congress, CPI(M), AAP, and AIMIM.
