A cheating case has been filed against former Indian cricketer Sreesanth in Kerala, following a complaint lodged by an individual in the Kannur district. Sreesanth is the third accused in this case.
The complainant accused Rajiv Kumar and Venkatesh Kini of deceiving him into giving them Rs. 18.70 lakh, starting from April 25, 2019. They claimed the funds were for constructing a sports academy in Kollur, Karnataka, where Sreesanth is supposedly a partner.
The complainant stated that he invested the money after being promised a partnership in the academy. Sreesanth, along with the other two individuals, faces charges under IPC Section 420 for cheating and inducing the transfer of property dishonestly.
