A 22-year-old young man tragically took his own life after being targeted by cybercriminals who threatened to expose nude video of him. This distressing incident occurred in the SR Nagar locality of Hyderabad.
According to SR Nagar’s Inspector, PV Ram Prasad Rao, the victim hailed from Bapatla town in Andhra Pradesh and was residing in a hostel in SR Nagar with four other individuals. He recently received a video call from an unknown woman, during which the cybercriminals recorded the video and manipulated it to show him in a naked state.
Subsequently, they extorted money from him, warning that they would publicly distribute the video if he failed to comply. He initially paid 10,000 rupees, but the criminals persisted in demanding more money and even sent the video to some of his friends. Overwhelmed by the humiliation, he made the tragic decision to end his own life.
