
Legendary cricketer and former Indian captain Bishan Singh Bedi has passed away today at the age of 77 after a prolonged illness. Bedi, a left-arm spinner, was celebrated as one of India’s finest bowlers. His impressive career spanned 67 Tests, where he claimed 266 wickets, and 10 ODIs, in which he took 7 wickets.
Born in Amritsar on September 25, 1946, Bedi started his international career in 1966 and played for India until 1979. He notably led India to a historic series victory against England in 1971.
Beyond the international stage, he was a significant figure in domestic cricket, representing the Delhi Cricket Team. His son, Angad Bedi, is a noted actor in Bollywood.
