
Andhra Pradesh High Court sentenced Guntur municipal commissioner Chekuri Keerthi to one month of imprisonment and imposed a Rs 2,000 fine in a contempt of court case. The court found her guilty of not complying with its orders in a lease case involving Yadavalli Vari Satram, a charity organization in Guntur.
The petitioner had raised concerns about the non-implementation of previous court orders. Keerthi is required to surrender before the High Court registrar on January 2.
