Director Ajay Bhupathi of ‘RX 100’ fame is coming with ‘Mangalavaaram’ on November 17 in theatres. Ajaneesh Loknath of ‘Kantara’ fame, fight masters ‘Real’ Satish and Prithvi and many other talents have worked on the action thriller. At the pre-release event of the thriller on Saturday, the speakers highlighted the film’s three major highlights: the boldness factor, the weighty performances, and the superior technical quality of the movie.
Ajay Bhupathi is also producing the pan-Indian release on A Creative Works in company with Swathi Reddy Gunupati and Suresh Varma M of Mudhra Media Works. Allu Arjun made it to the event as the chief guest owing to his friendship with Swathi. He wished her all the success and also indicated that ‘Mangalavaaram’ is going to be seen as one of the most shocking films ever made. “This is a bold subject. And it took them lots of courage to tell a story of this sort,” Bunny said.
The National Award-winning actor also revealed that director Sukumar found the film’s teaser shocking.
The director’s speech conveyed how tough and challenging it was for him to write the story. “My hands trembled. This is the kind of subject that nobody has ever attempted before. Brace up for ‘poonakalu’. Please don’t talk about the characters with others after you watch the movie. That will kill the suspense factor,” he said. His words suggest that ‘Mangalavaaram’ is an out-and-out thriller with twists and turns.
The film was shot for 100 days, mostly outdoors and at night. “The budget did go up. We went all in to ensure the highest technical quality,” the makers said.
The producers took on the subject mainly because they were bowled over by Bhupathi’s novel writing. The female-oriented film has Payal Rajput and Nandita Swetha in author-backed roles. Sritej, Ajay Ghosh, Chaitanya Krishna and others have prominent parts.
Industrialist Nimmagadda Prasad said that Bhupathi has worked with a vengeance. Producer Dil Raju described the film as a refreshing attempt.
