Tamil actor Mansoor Ali Khan’s sexist remarks about star heroine Trisha Krishnan have sparked public outcry, leading Trisha to strongly condemn the comments and vow not to work with Mansoor again. Megastar Chiranjeevi expressed dismay on Twitter on the same.
Chiranjeevi condemned the “distasteful and disgusting” remarks, standing with Trisha and every woman subjected to such comments. Despite public backlash and condemnation from celebrities, Mansoor’s statement lacked an apology, intensifying the controversy.
The National Commission for Women (NCW) has now intervened, taking suo moto cognizance and directing the Tamil Nadu DGP to invoke IPC Section 509 B against Mansoor Ali Khan.
