After a dull 2023, the Malayalam film industry started off 2024 on a solid note. Within two months, the Malayalam film industry delivered three solid hits at the box office. Interestingly, all these films belong to different genres.
It was Aattam which began 2024 with a bang. This suspense drama received huge critical acclaim and also had a great theatrical run. In February, romantic comedy Premalu and horror-thriller Bramayugam are ruling the box office. Both these movies were released in a gap of a week and were received extremely well by the audience.
There is a huge social media buzz around these three movies. Thus, audiences of other languages are also showing interest in watching these movies, especially on OTT platforms. Aattam has completed its theatrical run and the OTT release details are yet to be out. Meanwhile, we may get to know about the digital premieres of Premalu and Bramayugam once they get done with their theatrical run.
