As per the latest media reports, Shubman Gill’s platelet count has seen a drop. He is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Chennai for Dengue.

It should raise concerns that Gill might not play some crucial World Cup matches even after he gets discharged, owing to weakness.

“The opening batter who missed the team’s first fixture in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 against Australia in Chennai is set to miss the team’s next fixture against Afghanistan in Delhi on the 11th of October,” said BCCI on Monday. The board didn’t reveal about the hospitalization part of the story.
