In his latest film Guntur Kaaram, Superstar Mahesh Babu was seen as a beedi smoker. After a long time, he was seen as a smoker on screen. Meanwhile, Mahesh clarified that he doesn’t endorse smoking and revealed that the beedis he smoked on set were not tobacco-based but rather ayurvedic.
In a recent interview, Mahesh revealed that initially, the makers provided him with tobacco beedis. However, he experienced severe migraine as a result. Immediately, he complained to director Trivikram.
Eventually, the art department devised an alternative and brought Ayurvedic beedis crafted from clove leaves and various other herbal components. Mahesh noted that these beedis had a mint flavour and provided him with significant relief. Thus, he continued using them throughout the shoot.
