Aadhar Mandatory for Live-in Relationships!

Uttarakhand BJP has issued a new rule under which two consenting individuals can live-in in a marriage-like registration.

Aadhar is mandatory, photos are a must and video recordings of testimonials of witnesses are also required for couples to live-in under the new UCC rules in Uttarakhand.

Not stopping there, officials are being trained in the usage of UCC portal that will be available from January 26, 2025.

The training of 14 officials is being carried out in the presence of three sub-divisional magistrates. It will end on January 20.

Given today’s Tinder culture, the law looks like it’s the need of the hour. Having a marriage-like live-in relationship will ensure both parties are protected by law.

Incidentally, a third party can complain against live-in relations and a sub-registrar will look into the matter.

Those wanting no strings attached relations will now have some strings attached. But the news has surely tickled netzens who find the development hilarious to say the least.
