A shocking incident in Ahmedabad has left the city shaken. A Class 10 student was stabbed to death by his Class 8 junior inside their school after a brief argument turned violent.
Soon after the murder, a chat between the accused and a friend surfaced online. In it, the friend wrote, “Maar nahi daalna tha” (you shouldn’t have killed him). The accused replied in a chillingly casual manner, recalling how his senior provoked him with taunts like “Kon hain, kya karlega tu?” (Who are you, what will you do?). He ended the exchange with the words, “Jo hua so hua” (whatever happened, has happened).
The tone of this chat has deeply unsettled parents and the wider community. Many feel it reflects an alarming normalization of violence among students.
The school is also under scrutiny for its response. Families allege staff delayed calling an ambulance. Shockingly, a water tanker was reportedly summoned instead, raising suspicions of negligence.
This tragedy highlights rising aggression among youth and exposes the lack of counseling and emotional support in schools. Beyond academics, education must include guidance in empathy, conflict resolution, and safety.
