At around 2 p.m., someone called up the private firm located in RMZ Eco Space and claimed there was a bomb ready to blow up their place. Police sources confirmed the threat and the tense situation.
The miscreant called a US-based accounting firm in the campus, saying there was a bomb there. The company quickly informed the police, who then sent dog and bomb squads to the tech park on Outer Ring Road. Around 500 employees were evacuated from the tech park as a precaution. The management sent a message telling those on their way to go back home and work remotely instead.
According to the police, the hoax threat came from an ex-employee who was terminated recently. An employee from the firm tweeted, “They blocked the main gate and evacuated everyone from the tech park.”
The Bellandur police filed a case and are investigating the matter. Further details will be updated soon.
