Some unfortunate events turned Diwali into a festival of fights in India. A clip shared on twitter depicts an auto-driver attempting to run after the group of revealing boys on the road whilst burning crackers during Diwali. The boy then ran down to an alley and set fire to some hay on the roadside, which resulted in a lot of noise and smoke.
At this point, a very angry driver decided not to wait any longer but went after the boys and even rammed his car to them. It then returned in a second round but landed on a different boy who only emerged with minor wounds.
The video is trending on social media platforms, with some attributing the fault to the boys who should stop disturbing motorists on the road. Others blame the reckless driver as if he was a psychopath that wanted to kill innocent individuals.
What makes people accountable for such occurrences? Who should be punished? These are a few of the queries which come across while next Diwali is long away.
