Cheating Case Against Rajinikanth’s Wife

Rajinikanth’s wife, Latha, has faced a setback from the Supreme Court. The court has revived the case against her for alleged cheating. Previously, the Karnataka High Court had dismissed the criminal charges against her.

The Supreme Court has reinstated alleged criminal charges against Latha Rajinikanth related to the Tamil film ‘Kochadaiiyaan.’

Latha had been facing charges of cheating and forgery stemming from a 2015 case filed by a Chennai-based advertising company, Ad Bureau Advertising Pvt Ltd. The dispute involved a financial matter related to the film ‘Kochadaiiyaan,’ produced by Mediaone Global Entertainment Limited.

The Karnataka High Court had earlier quashed cheating charges against Latha but allowed forgery cases to proceed. The Supreme Court’s recent decision requires Latha to either seek discharge from the trial court or face trial, citing a 2018 Supreme Court order that upheld the continuation of criminal proceedings.
