Chennai Shock: Crowd Beats Man to Death

A shocking incident occurred in Chennai during the early hours of Wednesday on Prakasam Salai near Broadway. A van driver named Kalaiselvan was beaten to death by a mob. The attack reportedly happened after he allegedly urinated from inside an auto and it fell on a woman walking on the road.

The incident quickly triggered anger among people present at the spot. Reports say Kalaiselvan had consumed alcohol and was not fully in control of his senses. His behaviour was inappropriate and disrespectful toward the woman.

However, the situation could have been handled differently. Bystanders could have confronted him or asked him to apologise. The woman could have filed a complaint and the police could have taken legal action according to the law.

Instead, the crowd reacted with extreme violence. Kalaiselvan was allegedly beaten by several people at the scene. The assault turned fatal and resulted in his death.

The incident has once again raised serious concerns about mob justice. Law enforcement authorities could have investigated the case and taken action if necessary. Taking the law into one’s own hands cannot be justified under any circumstances.

A similar case had earlier been reported in Delhi. A young man named Tarun reportedly lost his life after a minor argument during Holi when water accidentally splashed on a woman. The disagreement quickly escalated into violence.

Such incidents highlight how quickly public anger can spiral out of control. Crowd violence often leads to tragic consequences. Experts say maintaining law and order is essential to prevent such incidents in the future.
