DMRC Banned Making ‘Reels’ in Metro

After a series of films recorded inside Metro trains were recently disseminated on social media, the Delhi Metro on Friday advised riders not to make “reels” within the Metro.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) cautioned passengers via its official Twitter account that any action that causes discomfort to fellow commuters is absolutely forbidden. “Na Na Na, take out your camera!” “#DelhiMetro,” the DMRC tweeted.

In addition to the tweet, it shared a banner that stated, “Johnny Johnny! Do you agree, Papa? Making movies in Metro? No way, Papa!” “Any such activity that may cause inconvenience to passengers is strictly prohibited inside the Delhi Metro,” according to the poster’s footnote.

The DMRC encouraged passengers to “avoid engaging in such obscene activities.” It further asked that similar events be reported to the nearest Metro or CISF officers.

In an official statement, the DMRC warned passengers not to “engage in any indecent/obscene activity that may cause discomfort or offend the sensibilities of other fellow commuters.” It also called attention to the fact that obscenity is a criminal infraction under Section 59 of the DMRC’s Operations and Maintenance Act.

The DMRC had warned commuters in March to observe norms and not cause difficulty for other passengers, noting that recording reels, dancing videos, or any other activity that may cause disturbance to other passengers were absolutely forbidden aboard trains.
