Hyd-US Journey Turns Tragic: NRI Dies in Highway Crash

A tragic road accident in Eluru district has claimed the life of a young NRI, highlighting once again the dangers of driver fatigue on highways.

The incident occurred on the national highway near Mudinepalli mandal, where 27-year-old Jayaram (Jairam) lost his life. According to initial reports, he was traveling from Hyderabad as part of his journey to the United States when the accident took place.

Police officials stated that the car in which Jayaram was traveling rammed into a tipper parked on the roadside. Preliminary findings suggest that the driver lost control of the vehicle after reportedly falling asleep at the wheel. The impact of the collision was severe, resulting in Jayaram’s death on the spot.

The driver, who survived the crash with minor injuries, is currently under observation, and authorities are questioning him as part of the investigation. Officials are also examining whether the parked tipper had proper warning signals or reflectors, which could have helped prevent the accident.

Road safety experts repeatedly warn that drowsy and fatigue driving can be as dangerous as drunk driving, especially on long-distance routes.

Local police have registered a case and initiated a detailed investigation to determine all contributing factors. Meanwhile, the victim’s family has been informed, and arrangements are being made to transport the body.
