Engineering Student’s Bath-Time Music Habit Triggers Massive Backlash

According to a Reddit post, a lady student at an engineering college in Kerala had her phone confiscated by the warden for allegedly listening to music while taking a bath.

The Amal Jyothi College of Engineering student had to write an apology letter to the warden to get her phone back. Reddit user @bheemanreghu shared a photo of the apology letter and the student holding it.

I politely request that you return my phone because I have essential duties and assignments to do.” In October of last year, the letter was written. “An apology letter for listening to music—Amal Jyothi College of Engineering,” says the description of the Reddit post.

Some users criticized the post, calling the measures overly severe and autocratic. “Parents bear some of the guilt as well. The majority of them want the authorities to impose tough disciplinary actions on their children. Second, convent-run hostels have a long history of undesired dictatorial activities, therefore, these hostels are modern-day moderate-security prisons,” one user said.
