A shocking incident has emerged from Rajanna Sircilla district in Telangana. A young girl from Gambhiraopet mandal reportedly sold her mother’s gold jewellery to buy an expensive bike for a boy she met on Instagram.
The boy is said to be from Racharla Gollapalli village in Yellareddypet mandal. Reports say he asked the girl to arrange a costly bike for him. As she did not have money, the girl decided to fulfil his demand in another way.
Without informing her family, she secretly sold her mother’s gold jewellery. Using the money from the jewellery, she reportedly purchased the bike and gave it to the boy she had been communicating with online.
The matter came to light when the girl’s mother noticed that her gold jewellery was missing from the house. She searched the house but could not find it anywhere, which increased her concern.
After failing to locate the jewellery, the mother approached the police in Yellareddypet. She filed a complaint and asked authorities to investigate the incident and trace the missing valuables.
The incident once again highlights the risks associated with online relationships. On social media platforms, personal details such as name, address and profession can easily be false or misleading.
Because of this, it often becomes difficult to verify the real identity of a person online. Teenagers and young users may sometimes get emotionally involved without fully understanding these risks.
Experts often say that genuine relationships are based on trust and honesty. They also stress that affection should never be measured through expensive gifts or financial demands.
Parents are advised to stay aware of their children’s online activities and interactions. At the same time, children should feel comfortable sharing their experiences with parents to avoid such situations.
