Indian Cricket Team Captain Vocal About Privacy Invasion

Being a public figure has some pros and cons, while the pros come really handy but the cons are equally on the line. Similar thing happened with Rohit Sharma.

On 19th May 2024, Rohit Sharma posted this on twitter (currently x) .

“The lives of cricketers have become so intrusive that cameras are now recording every step and conversation we are having in privacy with our friends and colleagues, at training or on match days.

Despite asking Star Sports to not record my conversation, it was and was also then played on air, which is a breach of privacy. The need to get exclusive content and focus only on views and engagement will one day break the trust between the fans, cricketers and cricket.

Let better sense prevail.”

Now, the invasion of privacy he is talking about was only aired in Star Sports live broadcast, and it wasn’t posted anywhere else.

A deeper relation between celebs and common people are established by what goes behind the camera. When it’s true that invading someone’s privacy is a crime, we have to keep that in mind that they are the very ones who used live streams to communicate with people.

People in the comments are saying that when a live telecast is going on this much liberty the channels have to show a few snippets.

One person tweeted this, “payment received Successfully

How much did PR Sports pay you to write this??”

While others have said, “Misplaced outrage hai sir ji. Star Sports aired the video live, and the clip was posted nowhere else. Live broadcaster ko yeh permission to hoti hai”.

But, there is a huge amount of people who are supporting Rohit Sharma in this case, “ Finally captain had to speak up against TRP mafia STAR sports.

With you on this Sharma Ji”.

Now, this is true that conversations between his teammates and others before the match or after the match which are too personal should not be on national television at all. Because, no matter how big of a star one is, something has to be private.

But, we also have to keep this side in mind that PR teams are also something who goes hand in hand.

But, just because he is a public figure nobody has the right to invade their personal life.
