Amitabh Bachchan returns with a new season of Kaun Banega Crorepati, and the show has already attracted controversy over its guest panel. Officers involved in Operation Sindoor, Colonel Sofiya Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, appeared on a special episode, which has raised eyebrows online.
Early promos highlighted the officers alongside Commander Prerna Deosthalee, the first woman officer to command a warship in the Indian Navy. While the guests explained the purpose of Operation Sindoor, viewers found it unusual to see them in full military uniform on a commercial television show.
Many questioned why the armed forces would allow officers to appear in reality shows like KBC. Some viewers accused the government of using the episode as publicity to promote the Indian Navy on national television.
Comments ranged from asking why uniforms were necessary in a private show to questioning whether the government was using such appearances as PR propaganda. The discussion sparked strong opinions on social media about military professionalism and public engagement.
While the intention seems to be raising awareness about Operation Sindoor, critics feel the presentation might have crossed the line. Showing officers in uniform discussing military operations on entertainment television could upset viewers and blur professional boundaries.
As the Independence Day special approaches, it remains to be seen how the episode will be received. Many hope the show balances public engagement with respect for military decorum, highlighting the importance of both awareness and professionalism.
