Penguin Takes Responsibility Of Norwegian Army!

A picture of a penguin with an army badge is getting viral on the internet. The penguin has come aboard to save the day when everything and everyone else fails? It’s not a joke but a reality in Norway.

Sir Nils Olav III, a resident at the Edinburgh Zoo, has been recently promoted to the rank of Brigadier in the Norwegian Army, the third highest in the country.

It is a tradition for the Norwegian Army dating back to 1972 when the King’s Guard adopted the bird during their visit and made the bird their mascot.

The crazy fact to know about penguins is that they are not endemic to Norway or anywhere near the region. Penguins are a species found almost exclusively in the southern hemisphere except one species, the Galapagos penguin, found north of the equator.
