Shortly after taking the medicine at home, Rekha began to experience severe vomiting. Her family rushed her to the district hospital, but despite efforts to save her, she passed away during treatment. Following the incident, her husband accused the medical store operator of causing her death by giving her the wrong drug.

Police took immediate action and arrested the shop owner. He was produced before a court and subsequently sent to jail. A case has been registered under relevant sections.

Drug Inspector Geetam Patoria visited the store and conducted a panchnama. The medical shop was sealed as part of the investigation. Authorities confirmed that a detailed probe will follow to verify the nature of the drugs sold and the licensing status of the store.

Superintendent of Police Padmavilochan Shukla stated that action was taken based on the family’s complaint. The woman’s body has been sent for post-mortem to determine the exact cause of death.

This incident has raised serious concerns over the regulation and supervision of local medical stores, and further legal action is expected based on the outcome of the ongoing investigation.
